This is a picture of my two dogs waiting for me to toss the ball.
Kamali is the Red Nose Pit and Gabby is our mixed girl.
I have been working with animals as a healer, a trainer and as a pet owner for well over 30 years.
I absolutely love working with pets.
People are great... but I learn so much by maintaining a balance between city and country, pets and people, work and fun.
Pets are often far more fun than working with people... sorry folks it's true. :)
Pets are far more open and receive love and healing energy unquestioning. They love to be loved.
For hundreds of years we have worked to create pets, especially dogs to meet our needs. We benefit from animals all of the time and it is my pleasure and joy to be part of giving back.
We create balance and healing in our lives by all that we receive from animals and we create good karma by giving back to those that give to us.
The first paid job I had was at age 5 or 6 feeding livestock before school 3 days a week. By age 8 I was getting paid to assist people with farrow cats, wild horses, frightened or injured animals of all sorts. This was my first love and the beginning of my journey as a healer and see er.
I had been told from the time I can remember of my gifts of sight, guidance and as a conduit and interpreter of healing energy... but once I was working with animals it was then that I understood more fully what it all meant.
I have worked with fire and rescue dogs, seeing eye dogs, police dogs and many others from the time I was very young. We moved back and forth between cities and the country and my reputation proceeded me. It was great as a child of intense poverty to always have jobs. Of course a few quarters here and there didn't pay much but I was able to buy bread and in times of wealth (such as receiving a whole dollar, lol), candy was abundant.
People have called me "Dog Whisperer", "Horse Whisperer", "Animal Whisperer" and other names. It's more of a nick name and an acknowledgment of what others witness than a TV show or some great wizard power. But I feel honored that others see me as calming to animals.
I love it when I go somewhere and people don't know me and they are surprised when their pets like me. I hear "my pet has never warmed up to anyone like that before" or "that's so weird. I have never seen my pet go to anyone they don't know, ever". People make comments about their pets behaviors and I sometimes feel like I have some great secret and I laugh.
Little do they know that I carry happy animal scents in my pocket. Hahahaha! I honestly don't completely know exactly what it is that causes animals to be different with me but there are some things I do believe to be part of the attraction. I believe animals can often sense when a person is calm on the inside, their intentions, their nature and their level of fear. While I fear animals very little, I respect them greatly. I know that animals are animals and will act on their animal instincts regardless of their age, species or how domesticated they are. I am an assertive person and I feel they sense that they can trust and respect me.
We have more to learn from animals than they have to learn from us. :)
Please let me know what you think of the new page on the web site.
Have a blessed day and go hug your pet. :)
